“ An experience difficult to classify, difficult to forget, led by a body that almost dances, a voice that almost sings, a text that is almost a poem... All subtly framed by silence and music”.José Sanchis Sinistierra
M.A.R
may be defined as an auteur's stage piece. In this case, the auteur is:
Andrea Díaz Reboredo, a plastic and stage artist, who is aided by the stage
handler and creator Xavier Bobés Solà, director of the company PLAYGROUND,
and the violoncellist Dani León, present on stage. Another member of this
team is Pablo Reboredo who, along with Andrea, has designed and built many
of the items that constitute this large example of installation art that is
M.A.R. It is a theatrical piece with objects which explores their handling
through a choreography of the body with working materials, objects that are
key to the building of a specific space: the home.
Two narratives are interlaced throughout this work: the life of a house
with a century-old social, family and economic history, and a
technical-poetical reflection on spaces and their meaning.
M.A.R
is a discourse through space that is based on the following premises:
architecture is the stage for life. Every culture creates its own space.
And the changes in this space give shape to culture. A journey through
materials such as wood, paper, photographs, utensils meant for daily use,
paintings..., that are linked to a corporeal exercise of precise movements
and build a space for reflection in constant movement.
As stated by the creator, “apart from the artistic team that we have
mentioned, there are others behind this work: the voices of those who have
wished to remember and share their stories in order to bring them into the
present”.
